René Pérez Joglar de Calle 13, se presentará Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2009

El cantante puertorriqueño René Pérez Joglar, mejor conocido como Residente, del grupo Calle 13, será el presentador de los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2009 que se celebrarán en el Anfiteatro Gibson de Los Ángeles el 15 de octubre. Residente “es uno de los más talentosos y queridos artistas musicales en su género y su irreverente y desenfadada personalidad lo hacen perfecto para nuestro evento”, dijo hoy en un comunicado José Tillan, productor ejecutivo de los Premios MTV 2009, cuya gala será transmitida en vivo por MTV Latinoamérica y MTV Tr3s.
Por su parte, el artista puertorriqueño manifestó sentirse muy contento por participar en el evento y bromeó sobre la oportunidad de poder dirigirse a millones de personas al mismo tiempo y en vivo.
“Esta será la primera -y probablemente la última- vez que ejerza de presentador, así que no se la pierdan”, comentó.
Junto a su medio hermano Eduardo Cabra, “Visitante”, Calle 13 ha logrado en poco más de cuatro años hacerse un lugar en el panorama musical con una mezcla de letras atrevidas y una fusión de géneros urbanos y alternativos.
Entre sus reconocimientos destacan un Grammy y cinco Grammy Latinos, además de un premio Billboard y un MTV entre otros. También han colaborado con artistas como Shakira, Cafe Tacvba, Ruben Blades, Alejandro Sanz, Mala Rodríguez, Mercedes Sosa y Nelly Furtado.
Los nominados a los Premios MTV son seleccionados por profesionales de la industria y seguidores.
