Barack Obama: “No he Sido un Padre Perfecto”

El presidente Barack Obama ha escrito un mensaje del Día del Padre muy resentido ya que reconoce sus propios defectos como padre de sus hijas Malia, 10, Sasha, 8.
” Sé que no he sido un padre perfecto. Sé que he hecho errores, ” admite Obama en una carta para ser publicada en la revista Parade
” Había muchos días que pasaba el tiempo fuera sin la compañia de mi familia y cuando caia en cuenta esta estaba a un millón millas de distancia, ” escribio él, ” yo sabía que me perdia muchos momentos lindos de la vida de mis hijas que jamas se recuperarian. Esto es una pérdida que nunca me la perdonaré. ”
Impulsando a otros padres a hacerse eco en la vida de sus niños, dice el presidente Obama, ” necesitamos mas padres para aumentar, y comprender que el trabajo no se termina en el concepto que hace un hombre sino en la capacidad de tener a un niño, pero con el coraje para levantarlo. ”
El refleja sobre el y la ausencia como padre en su vida (mi niñez de Obama fue dividida entre la vida con su madre y y sus abuelos), el presidente reflexiona sobre la acción de hacerse un padre a su hija mayor.
” Recuerdo cuando lleve a mi esposa Michelle y a Malia recien nacida a casa desde el hospital ya hace casi 11 años, ” escribe él. ” Pienso en la promesa que le hice ese día: que yo le daria lo que yo nunca tenía que si yo podría ser algo en la vida, y que yo sería un padre bueno. ”
Era sólo en enero cuando Obama encerró y escribió una carta a sus hijas previsto de su inauguración, en la cual él los acreditó como la razón por qué él corrió para la Casa Blanca.
